TOPIC: File Types

Is there an actual restriction on the file types that can be sent using this module or is it simply the demo where the restriction is enforced?

We can see this module to be very useful for our clients in distributing files to them rather than using ftp which seems to scare some off but we need to be able to send files regardless of the type.

Hi,

You can restrict the file types by their extensions (for e.g. .pdf, .zip, .gif) in the admin panel. There are restrictions in the demo you see for security reasons.

cheers!

I have now purchase the component but am experiencing issues

I have tried to post in the bugs area but it does not store the post.

Installing onto Windows 2003 server running joomla 1.5.13 and php 5.2.5
component installed OK but when view config page all the fields appear to show strings rather than values.

I have tried installing on a local test pc running XAMPP running jooma 1.5.10 and php 5.1.30-community and that works OK.

The php values are not appearing on the 2003 server when view the "help about" although I do see php values when using theJoomla "System Info"

I have attached a file image for info

as the site does not allow jpgs to be stored i shall describe the issue

within the config screeen all fields are showing as php code rather than the values.

e.g
File extensions allows - the value is showing as "<?=$this->config->reg_extension_allow?>"

This appears to be a php issue ?
